On 5 September, the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission was invited by the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS) Expert Group on Maritime Policy (EGMP) to share its expertise on Maritime affairs, at Donsö Island in Sweden. The event was organised jointly with HELCOM and Zero Vision Tool in the framework of the Donsö Shipping Meet.
The meeting focused on green shipping, technology and alternative fuels, the Blue Growth Agenda and the UN Sustainable Goals’ implementation with regard to the maritime economy.
The Expert Group members discussed maritime collaboration in the Baltic Sea Region, introduced the Integrated Maritime Sustainability Indicators and furthered the actions taken on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 which the Sweden chose as the main focal point of EGMP’s work during its Presidency year.
The CPMR Baltic Sea Commission was represented at the meeting by Jessica Olausson, Region Västra Götaland and Janne Tamminen, Helsinki-Uusimaa region, who are members of the CPMR BSC Maritime Working Group.
