The CPMR Baltic Sea Commission’s (BSC) Executive Committee has laid the ground work for key activities and strategies in the coming years.

Over 20 representatives from Baltic Sea member regions attended the Executive Committee meeting, held in Brussels on 25-26 April.

Along with updates from each of the BSC’s Working Groups, regional representatives examined the work plan for the next two years.

They also discussed the plans for the upcoming BSC General Assembly and the 8th EUSBSR Annual Forum, both taking place in mid-June in Berlin.

Mr Peter Schenk, from the European Commission’s department for regional and urban policy (DG Regio), gave an update on the current state-of-play regarding the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR).

The Executive Committee also discussed the current discussions taking place on the future of the EU, outlined in the five scenarios in the European Commission’s recent white paper.

The Baltic Sea Commission will take part in the CPMR’s important reflection on the key role of regions in Europe’s future. This work was presented by Gregg Jones, CPMR’s Director of Finance and Programmes.
