The CPMR’s Baltic Sea Commission (BSC) is holding its General Assembly on 12 June, 2017, back-to-back with the major stakeholder conference, the 8th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
The BSC General Assembly will be hosted by the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in its federal representation, in the Ministergärten, in Berlin, Germany.
The Agenda for the meeting will include updates and reports from working groups and policy areas, the financial report and budget, and the work plan for the years 2017-2018.
There will be also a seminar feeding into the CPMR’s ongoing Reflection on the Future of Europe.
Jari Sainio, president of the CPMR Baltic Sea Commission, and Vice President of the Board of the Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council, said: “It is necessary to devote time to a debate on the visions and scenarios of the forthcoming development of European cooperation, and our General Assembly is a great opportunity to discuss the role of the regions in the Baltic Sea Area and EU.”
The BSC General Assembly will take place alongside the 8th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
More than 800 participants are expected to attend the forum and the two-day programme features more than 30 workshops and seminars.
The CPMR’s Baltic Sea Commission (BSC) is one of the main organisers of the event, along with the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, in close cooperation with the European Commission.
