CPMR Baltic Sea Commission to work on Blue growth value chains

//CPMR Baltic Sea Commission to work on Blue growth value chains

Blue_Growth_Balticsea_searicaThe CPMR Baltic Sea Commission is starting to work on an analysis of value chains in Blue Growth in the Baltic Sea Region with a regional perspective, as part of a contract with the Swedish Institute. This work will also involve the consultancy firm Technopolis and involve interactions with regions and several organisations that are active in the Baltic Sea.

The final report will consist of reports focusing on specific value chains, as well as on policy intelligence and suggestions in concrete areas to further develop regional involvement in the development and implementation of joint roadmaps in key blue growth (the objective of this second report is to show the existing and potential links between the value chains that will be analysed and the content of smart-specialisation strategies adopted in the Baltic Sea Area, and which provide guidelines for the programming of ESI funds at national and regional levels), and on suggestions on how to work in order to mobilise and align public and private investments in a Trans Baltic setting.

The next Martitime Working Group of the Baltic Sea Commission will focus on how the regions can best be involved. It will take place prior the European Maritime Days in Turku, May 17th.
